If you read the last three posts introducing the judges, you might have noticed in a few places we kept mentioning “4 judges”. We’ve played our cards close to our chest when it came to announcing the 4th judge for the Culinary Arts Cook, but the time has come to announce the twist we have planned for the event!
Judge #4 is going to be one lucky person pulled straight from the crowd attending the cook off.
Between 11 and 11:30 am on March 17th, we are going to run a raffle where the prize is the coveted fourth seat on our judges panel.
One incredibly fortunate person is going to be able to sit with three of Edmonton’s finest food aficionados to judge culinary creations made by the finest chefs in town at our cook off.
This winner is going to have the chance to learn the inner workings of the judging process that goes on behind the scenes, some tricks of the trade and judge alongside A Canadian Foodie, Liane Faulder and Chef Stanley Townsend.
Karlynn Johnston, one of our culinary cook off team members, who has sat on judging panels with Liane and Stanley before, commented on the raffle:
“This is going to be one of the best panels for someone to win a place on, all three of these judges are literally some of my favorite people in the Edmonton food scene. That judges room is going to be so much fun and the food dishes so unique that I literally am jealous that I can’t sit on that panel myself. Seriously. I’m thinking of sneaking in. That winner is going to learn more about the food judging process in that hour than can ever be found in books or online.”
So to sum up, Judge #4 of the Culinary Arts Cook Off…could be YOU!

What: Culinary Arts Cook Off Fourth Judge Raffle. One person will win the 4th judges seat on our panel.
When : You must purchase raffle tickets between 11 and 11:30 am, on March 17th at the raffle booth. The raffle is time sensitive, we have to have our judges sequestered and comfortable by 11:30, ready to judge the mac n’ cheese. If you do not enter between 11 and 11:30 am on March 17th, you do not have the chance to win. It is highly suggested if you are interested in this raffle that you arrive right at 11 am, when the cook off starts and start off your morning by purchasing these raffle tickets.
Who: This contest is open to anyone who purchases a raffle ticket for the Fourth Judge Raffle. Please make sure you are purchasing the right tickets. It will be very apparent and have it’s own booth, but please double check.
